The Development of Activities Exhort Quality of Youth

This study was to develop suitable activity to exhort youth quality. The procedures were; 1) to study factors and activity model which relate to youth quality, 2) to develop media and activities model for the program, finally 3) to find out the efficiency of these media and activities model.

The first step was to survey the idea from 1,515 samples of technical students all over Thailand. The second was to develop media and activities model on responsibility aspect and skill program solving aspect. The last one was to experiment one class of students for each aspect.

Tools to study factors and activities model were questionnaire, test for awareness of responsibility, checklist for responsibility, test for skill of problem solving, activity plan, and variety of media for these activities. These tools were tried out for their efficiency.

The results were as follows:
Phase I:
Factors that affect responsibility were age, awareness of responsibility, aim in life, chores, level of education, friends, behavior model, raising, family relationship, and school. This equation could explain 34 percent of responsibility.

Factors that affect problem solving skill were level of education, friend, and school. This equation could explain 31 percent of ability to solve the problems.

Activities model to exhort the youth were to set usually indirect activity including special activity, occasionally set content about variety of life in school situation, use multi-media to create awareness, run activity with group process, discussion and conclusion.

Phase II
VDO was created to be the core media in this study. It was "VDO for Education on Problem and Responsibility of the Youth" which comprised of 12 parts about variety of life in social situation. Students rated the activities as good on a 5-point scale (more scores were about 3.63 to 4.44 on aspect of responsibility and about 3.59 to 3.918 on problem solving aspect). They agreed that these activities were very useful. Experts evaluated that this media presented good concept. Nevertheless the corresponding image presentation was as an average level.

For activities, the researcher developed two activity plans: these were plan for activities exhort responsibility and plan for activities skill of problem solving. They were used with supervisor manual and participants activities manual. Participants evaluated the developed activities as good on a 5-point scale.

The final result found that one of the important activity model to manipulate activities was to set suitable environment in order to support and coincident with these activities; these were the unity of idea and behavior to perform, good relation among participants and their supervisors and also facilities used in activities.

Phase III
It was found that after the students participated in these activities their awareness of responsibility, performance on responsibility and ability to solve the problems were higher than before.
