Student-Centered, Active Learning and the Internet: A Winning Combination for Both Teachers and Students

Using the Internet as a resource for student-centered, active learning activities is both economical and essential. Teachers worldwide can take advantage of the myriad of web sites containing a wealth of already-prepared lesson plans including methodology and related activities.
But technology needs to be current. Access to fast computer connection, quality computers, and quality printers does involve a large outlay of cash in the beginning. But the time teachers can save, the creativity teachers can develop, the need for fewer textbooks, and timely activities can bring a new and stronger commitment to English, on the part of both teachers and students. For education reform to be successful, teachers and students must have access to current technology.

During this presentation, I will demonstrate how to use student-centered, active learning methodology to present a few selected exercises. The available hand outs contain many more exercises and their web address locations for anyone interested in pursuing further information from any website.
